The Union
The political union between Scotland and England has lasted for 300 years and benefited both countries by fostering conditions of stability and opportunity.Over centuries any distinctions between Scots and English have become minor. Indeed, most British people have ancestry from within all the home nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Britannica rejects the fomenting of tension and unhappiness by separatists seeking to break up Britain.

Scotland is well represented by 59 MPs in our Westminster Parliament. Geographical and political separation would be harmful to the interests of Scotland and England and both would be diminished on the international stage. Britain is a strong economy ranking 5th in the world and is in the economic G8 group of countries. It is also on the Security Council of the United Nations, a member of NATO and a member state of the EU. Scotland separated from Britain would forfeit all the benefits from these alliances.

Fiscal unity with an independent Bank of England vested with British interests would be usurped by the  European Parliament, subordinating Scotland to the European Central Bank which is controlled by the major economies of France and Germany.

The Crown
Britannica fully supports the monarchy and all that it stands for.
The Crown embodies the British identity of our nation. The monarchy maintains British traditions and Christian values.
The Armed Forces are in the service of the Crown and this therefore reduces the possibility of a coup against the elected government.

The Armed Forces
We believe that our Armed Forces are the best in the world and we wish to maintain their outstanding reputation. In recognition of this duty, they must be entitled to the highest standards of care both during and after service to the Crown. The Armed Forces will be immune to prosecution by civilian courts.

National Security
Public confidence and trust in our Police has been diminished by a policy of using the Police as "agents for social change". We intend to reverse this undermining of the public trust and confidence in our Police and we will restore morale within the Force. The duty of the Police is, and always has been, to maintain law and order and this fundamental principle must be adhered to. Operational efficiency must transcend equality and gender/race quotas. The height restriction will be reinstated. The Police will not be subjected to public ridicule and politically motivated judicial inquisitions.

The Judiciary has been progressively politicised since the 1960s and the effect has been a steady erosion of respect for this institution where a narrow focus on the human rights of the individual prevails over the common good or the national interest.

The Crown Prosecution Service has been subverted by various political pressure groups and its impartiality therefore seriously compromised. The CPS has brought the law into disrepute and demeaned the institution as a whole. The public expect the law to be applied impartially but firmly.

Britannica will, on careful assessment, request that the legal profession carry out reforms which will enhance public confidence in and acceptance of rulings and judgements.

Immigration
Without a doubt the great majority of British people, including settled immigrants, wish to stop uncontrolled immigration to  Britain. Additionally most people would prefer illegal immigrants including bogus asylum seekers to be arrested and deported summarily without recourse to expensive taxpayer funded appeals. Britannica will handle the challenging task of dealing with immigration firmly and humanely.

The interests of Britain will be foremost in consideration of issues concerning immigration. The integrity of British citizenship will be upheld and not allowed to be debased by the indiscriminate issuing of millions of "British" passports with associated privileges to unlimited and unwanted economic migrants.

The good or bad treatment which it is alleged deportees may be subject to on repatriation is not the concern of the British government. Further, decisions made on this basis are an infringement and gross interference with the sovereignty of these states.
In recent years it has become apparent that due to large numbers of illegal immigrants entering the country a specialised border and security force is required. We suggest that this new force which will replace inadequate existing arrangements is established immediately and granted full powers to trace and arrest illegal aliens within Britain. We would suggest that members be recruited from the Armed Forces and Police.

The interests and rights of the British people must prevail when dealing with illegal aliens. This means that the current human rights law must be reviewed and modified urgently with regard to foreign criminals. The government should not be overruled in these matters by a contrary judiciary whose judgments may be based on supranational legislation and introduced foreign law.

Economy
Business and exports are the lifeblood of the nation.Too many politicians have no grasp of how a business works and most have had no experience of running a business. Misguidedly, businesses are viewed as cash cows for state socialism or simply complementary to the economy as a whole. Fundamentally, business is the economy.
Britannica will reduce business taxes, rates and employment legislation. The conditions for business growth will be created, not jobs. Jobs will flow from successful firms. Corporation tax will be cut to 18%. Employment law will be reviewed and reduced.
The Public Sector will be cut by 20% over a period of 5 years and will be subordinated to the Private Sector.
British foreign trade will not be constrained by political interference from home, provided there is no conflict with our national interest.
We intend to balance Britain`s books.
Personal taxation will be reduced and VAT reductions given within the industrial and construction sectors. Wealth tax based on property valuation will not be introduced.

Foreign Affairs
Britannica stands for full sovereignty and freedom of action for Great Britain. Only by showing strength and resolution can we expect to obtain a satisfactory relationship with our European neighbours. We accept that Britain is part of the EU and will co-operate as fully as possible in this regard within the constraints of British national interests.
The relationship of Britain with the Commonwealth is overdue for reform. The title will revert to the British Commonwealth and Britain will be restored to supremacy as the mother country. High standards of behaviour will be required of members and those incapable of attaining these standards will be expelled.
The Falkland Islands and Gibraltar will remain British sovereign territory in perpetuity.

The longstanding partnership Britain has with the United States continues to be of immense importance to this country. It must remain one of the constants of British foreign policy.

Our international obligations will be subordinated to the strategic interests of Britain.

Health
Britannica is committed to the principle of free health care at the point of need.We will continue to give priority to patient care resources. Management and administrative systems must be reviewed on a regular basis to provide an efficient and cost effective service.

Promotion of healthy living will attempt to reduce the consequences of obesity, alcohol abuse and drug addiction. The current smoking restrictions will remain in effect.

We will stop the abuse of the NHS by health tourists who have not contributed to the system. However, existing reciprocal arrangements will be maintained and developed where appropriate.
Private health care is recognised as an additional resource which reduces the burden on the NHS.

Care of the elderly will be removed from the constraints of council budgets and become the remit of the NHS with appropriate allocation of finance.

Education
Funding for schools will come directly from central government. Council control of education will be removed and this responsibility will be granted to head teachers assisted by a board of governors.
Council authorities will only be responsible for school administration, maintenance and catering.
Private schools will remain an option. They relieve pressure on state schools and encourage high academic standards. They will continue to grant scholarships to exceptional children from poor circumstances.

Literacy, numeracy and character development are the essential elements of schooling. Political agendas have no place in the classroom.Technical and domestic subjects will be taught to both boys and girls. History and geography will become core subjects to create a sense of identity and cultural heritage. Assessment at all stages will ensure progress.

Christian assembly will be re-introduced to schools and political platforms of diversity, multiculture or homosexual promotion will not be permitted within school bounds.

Union interference both from within and outwith the classroom will be made illegal and the free movement of teaching staff between the state and private sector will be protected from union intimidation and interference.
Teachers will not be permitted to strike or take part in public demonstrations. The respect due to good professional teachers will be restored.
Head teachers will be given the power to dismiss poorly performing teachers quickly.

School uniforms will be worn by pupils and modest standards of dress for female  pupils will be required. Teachers will be permitted to use corporal punishment. Disruptive pupils will be expelled. The practice of having police permanently stationed at schools will be replaced by specially trained teachers with legal powers of arrest.

All British students will be exempt from tuition fees and student loans will be made available at low rates of interest and favourable terms.

Transport
Britannica will ensure that the transport infrastructure of Britain is improved and properly maintained.
Air pollution will be reduced in city centres by the conversion of bus and taxi fleets to electric power within designated zones.
Tram and subway systems will complement pedestrian and cycle areas of city centres.
Fuel duty will be reduced to ensure personal mobility for work and leisure.
Road haulage firms will be relieved of tax burdens which will lower distribution costs.

Weekend car parking charges in Council zones will be abolished to increase trade in city centres. The congestion charge will be abolished.

The Merchant Marine will be reviewed to improve its efficiency.  Rivers and canals within cities, where appropriate, will develop water taxi services.
Construction of new airports will be a high priority. They will be connected by fast rail and road systems to business hubs and city centres.

Energy
Power generation requires a base load capacity during periods of low demand augmented by follow up systems when sudden demand  has to be met.
We propose that base load nuclear with load following natural gas is used for the propulsion of compact and efficient turbines.
Wind generation which has an overall efficiency of 24% due to weather variation would not be responsive enough to cope with demand surges.
The various options for marine power generation will be researched.

Coal, which is plentiful in the UK, will remain a key fuel for existing power stations within clean burn processing. Oil fired power stations will remain an option.

Environment
Britannica will protect our country from further environmental degradation.
The consequences of overpopulation due to mass immigration to our small island, remain to be fully realised. Therefore, strict control of immigration is essential.
Parks, playing fields and gardens will be protected.
Our rivers will be protected from pollution and Marine Conservation Zones will be established.

We will mitigate the conflict between commercial farming and the natural environment. The creation of National Parks will be encouraged.

Agriculture and Fisheries
The Common Agriculture Policy will be reviewed to ensure our farming industry will benefit.
We will unilaterally withdraw from the Common Fisheries Policy to stop British fishing grounds being exploited as a common resource of the EU.
British fishermen will work with marine biologists to optimise their fishing resources.

Fish farming will be carefully controlled in order that our seas and rivers are protected.

Culture and the Arts
We will maintain free entry to national museums and encourage classical music opera and ballet.
British pop music will be promoted as it is an important cultural and commercial asset.

Our British heritage and traditions will be valued.
Historic events and pageants will be preserved.
National holidays will be declared to commemorate the patron saint days for each of the Home Nations.
Royal events and associated military pageants will be promoted.

Every school will organise at least one annual trip to a building or site of historic significance to Great Britain. British culture will be promoted abroad to encourage tourism.

Sport
Britannica believes that sport should be encouraged.
We will promote Olympic Sports at school and junior level to develop talent for international competition.
