BUILD A FUTURE

There is an urgent need to build affordable rented housing and to create jobs!

The Construction sector can deliver the housing projects that    Communities need and quickly create these jobs, whilst offering apprentice level training.
The added value to the economy will be £300 for each £100 of investment and tenants will further stimulate the economy, by their purchase of furniture and household goods.

The initial funding to builders should be from Government, which can recover its outlay from the rental income of tenants and utilise reserves, for the future regeneration of housing stock.
The title of these properties should remain in perpetuity with the Government to prevent a loss of housing stock, from sales to tenants.

Those willing to purchase homes can have their demands met by the private sector and this will reduce the overall housing shortage.

The greatest benefactors of a sustained build of Homes for Rent will be the younger generation which is more vulnerable to housing shortage, as they have have no leverage in the housing market, as first time buyers.

There should be a priority given to ex British Armed forces and British people in the allocation of rented homes.

A TALE OF TWO CITIES

Why has Glasgow invested in  a £270 million Subway project to be completed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, whilst Edinburgh has failed to deliver on a Tram project, currently at a revised cost estimate of £900 million?

Why has Glasgow been deprived of a rail link, from the provincial town of Paisley, to Glasgow International Airport, which would connect it to the global business community?

The  answer is found in the calamitous acrimony and bitter political rivalry between the SNP Separitists, Labour, and Libdem Councillors, which has caused the demise of projects essential to the regeneration of our economy, and has failed the expectations  of  Communities.

This catalouge of failure began in 2007 when the Labour/ Libdem  coalition set the objective of the Edinburgh Tram project against opposition from the SNP Separatists.
When in 2009 the SNP gained Council control, a deliberate hands off opposition to the project, allowed the enterprise to fail.
This was only countered by the dire threat of court action against the Council for maladministration!

With the Glasgow Airport Rail Link (GARL) we encountered the same hostility from an SNP Executive who refused to support the opposition  Labour party.

The intellectual capacity for cooperation and the ability to achieve goals and maintain objectives is being destroyed by vested Political interests, and renders Councils unfit to serve their Communities!

HOME NATIONS! UNITE WITH BRITANNICA!

Britannica is the Party for a United Britain!

We stand for British Identity, Culture and Values.
With all our citizens working together in a United, not partitioned, Island.
The Union of our Home Nations has given us stability and prosperity for 300 years.
And in modern Britain, settled migrants who call The United Kingdom their home,
Enjoy the same opportunities!

This peaceful Union is now facing a threat from separatists proposing a referendum to break up Britain and partition our Island!
Our people are not asking for this!
This is being imposed upon the 65 million people of our Home Nations, by the voting majority of 27 malcontents, within the devolved Holyrood Executive.
Our Home Nations enjoy peace, security and prosperity as The United Kingdom.
We are not asking for our 300 year old Treaty of Union to be broken!

We enjoy enormous benefits from being united as Great Britain.
We are the 5th largest world economy
And we are in the G8 economic group of countries .
Each country of our Home Nations, has a neighbour, with which to trade their goods and services.
And as a partner in the European Unionof 27 countries, we have a huge market for our exports.
And the British economy is backed by The Bank of England!

Britain is defended by the best Armed Forces in the world and they are supported by the collective security of NATO.
And we are a senior member of the United Nations Security Council.

Our Armed Forces, in turn support thousands of jobs in the communities where they are based.
In Scotland, there are 5,000 Naval shipbuilding jobs in Glasgow and Rosyth.
The Aerospace industry supports 15,000 jobs in Scotland.
And the Defence contracts awarded throughout British industry, make a major contribution to our economy.

In support of our industry we have an integrated transport system and our energy is supplied from a National Grid.

Political representation is available through 650 local MP`s
within The United Kingdom Parliament in Westminster.
There are 533 from England, 59 from Scotland, 40 from Wales and 18 from Northern Ireland.
Each Home Nation is well represented.

Fiscal unity and the pound Sterling managed by The Bank of England give stability to our economy.
To seek separation would cause disparity of economic development within our Home Nations.
As happened within the separate economies of the Eurozone.
Which now advocates fiscal unity for its economic recovery!

A United Britain is strong in its Economy and its Defence strategy.

And is Politically stable!

BRITANNICA is for a United Britain!

COUNCIL TAX FREEZE TAKE A REALITY CHECK!

Councils should be run like private companies!

Books should be balanced and deficits should not be incurred.
Councils can axe jobs and merge departments only once in a budget cycle in order to write down debts.
Thereafter, demand for services must be met from revenue.

The Council Tax freeze is a cynical vote buying strategy which must be rejected and local income tax, as an alternative, is likely to raise only 20% of revenue needs.

Council Tax must follow the rate of inflation, which may increase or reduce. The index of inflation is based on the cost input from thousands of items and therefore cannot be ignored.

Britannica rejects the insularity of Party politics with its vested interest of concensus, coalition or separatism.

Britannica will engage with reality!

NO MORE BLIGHT ON BLIGHTY! ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT

Windfarms have become a blight imposed on our countryside by politicians, driven by an emotive green agenda which has no intelligent concept of the facts!

Relative to power station energy costs, onshore installations are double and offshore, triple by comparison. We also have to contend with the 24% efficiency of windfarms, reduced further by transmission losses of 30%, to conclude that this system of energy procurement must now be minimised.

We also have a crippling financial burden borne by the taxpayer to subsidise windfarms during shutdown and green supplements imposed by stealth on consumer costs.

The solution lies in a policy of energy optimisation with a minimum of impact on the environment!

We need base load nuclear, with load driven natural gas systems, linked to compact efficient turbines generating power on demand.
Deployment of windfarms out of sight, to remote or island communities will have the least impact on the environment and effectively back up the national grid, instead of being a mainstream system.

Marine generation within our own tidal systems, must also be an  option for energy supply, as the cost of  importing oil and gas is  subject to market variation and disruption.

We need an energy policy to include ALL options to deliver a portfolio that will meet the urgent demands of Britain.       www.facebook/BritannicaParty
